A warehouse plan can show an office, a mezzanine and rows of racking. But a tenant may still struggle to picture how those parts fit together. Is the office beside goods-in or at the entrance? Does the mezzanine sit above welfare space, picking or storage? What stays open for the daily work on the floor?
Warehouse rendering services can turn approved drawings and a proposed fit-out into views a logistics tenant can read. The brief needs to separate the building shell from the layout choices inside it, then name any equipment or work patterns used to set the scene. That distinction matters. A rendered forklift, rack or mezzanine can illustrate a proposal. It cannot confirm that the design is safe, compliant or suitable for a specific operation.
This guide focuses on interior views for pre-leasing and tenant review. It gives you a source checklist, a way to label fixed and assumed details, and a review process that helps the images stay aligned with the approved plan.
What should warehouse rendering services show a logistics tenant?
A tenant-facing warehouse image set should explain how the office, mezzanine and working floor relate to each other. Choose views around the leasing questions, not just attractive corners of the building.
Match each view to a decision
A single image from warehouse rendering services may not show the full height and floor layout clearly. A small, planned set can explain the different parts without adding detail the tenant does not need.
Where do staff enter and reach the office? An entrance view can show the office door, reception or welfare space, and circulation from the entrance to the work floor.
How does the mezzanine sit within the shell? A high view or cutaway can show its footprint, level, stairs, edge and space below.
How is the working floor arranged? A high view can show the column grid, proposed racking, aisles, work zones and open areas.
How do two tenant options differ? Matched views can hold the building steady and show what changes between layouts.
A high view can show the whole arrangement, but small details may disappear. A floor-level view makes the office and nearby work areas easier to read, but may hide what happens above. Pair views only when each adds useful information.
Realistic 3D’s warehouse development project shows exterior views of warehouse units and office frontage. It is useful context for the building shell. It does not show a logistics tenant’s internal fit-out.
Separate the shell from the proposed fit-out
The shell includes the approved structure and fixed features, such as columns, doors, floor levels and roof form. The fit-out may include an office, welfare rooms, a mezzanine, racking, conveyors or other equipment. Some details may be approved, while others are options for discussion.
Mark each item as fixed, proposed or example only. This tells the modeller what must match the plan and what the team still needs to review. It also helps stop an example from being mistaken for a signed-off layout.
What information should you give the CGI studio?
Send the latest dimensioned plans and sections, plus the fit-out information that supports each view for the warehouse rendering services you commission. For warehouse CGI, an empty shell plan is not enough if the image is meant to show a working floor, mezzanine or office.
Start with the approved building information
Gather these files where available.
- Current floor plan, sections and elevations with dimensions
- Column grid, floor levels, doors and the stated clear height
- Roof structure and known fixed services, including sprinkler heads
- Approved office and welfare plans with doors and stairs
- Current mezzanine plan and section, with its approval status
- Rack type, pallet assumptions and aisle plan, if these are shown
- Tenant or supplier-approved equipment type and dimensions
- File names, dates, units and the person who can resolve conflicts
The guide to preparing CAD files for rendering covers useful drawing and model handover checks. If two files show different column positions or mezzanine edges, ask the design lead which one controls before the scene is built.
Record assumptions in a short brief
A useful brief ties each visible choice to a source or a named decision-maker. Use a short note for each part of the scene.
- Columns and floor. Use the latest building plan. Mark these as fixed and check their position against that plan.
- Office and welfare space. Name the fit-out plan and say whether it is proposed or fixed.
- Mezzanine. Use the current plan and section. Name the level, stairs and edge details. State whether the design and any load rating are confirmed by the engineer or supplier.
- Racking and pallets. Name the tenant or rack supplier’s plan. If it is an example, label the rack type and pallet layout as assumptions.
- Equipment. Use a type and dimensions approved by the tenant or equipment supplier.
- Roof and services. Use the building or services plan for lights, sprinklers and other fixed items.
If a choice is open, say who will decide it and when. Do not ask the artist to invent the rack layout, choose a forklift or settle a mezzanine detail by eye. The studio can show the agreed option. The relevant designer, tenant or equipment supplier needs to provide and approve it.
Name the operation only as far as the evidence allows
A logistics tenant may need the image to show storage, picking, packing, dispatch or staff support areas. Ask which of those functions matter to the leasing decision. Then provide the plan, equipment or layout information that supports them.
If the view includes a reach truck, give the studio its tenant or supplier-approved type and dimensions. If it includes racking, send the rack plan and pallet assumptions. These details help the image match the proposal. They do not make it an equipment or safety check.
The commercial interior rendering guide covers wider interior scope. For this brief, keep attention on the proposed logistics fit-out and the information needed to represent it.
How should you show the office, mezzanine and working floor?
Good warehouse rendering services use a view that makes the intended relationships easy to see, then check the image against the same plan revision. Do not use perspective to imply a height, clearance or capacity that the drawings do not establish.
Make vertical space readable
A warehouse can look like an empty box without scale cues. Columns, roof beams, mezzanine edges, office walls and approved equipment help viewers read the space. Each should come from the plan or a stated project example.
If clear height matters, use the project’s stated figure and name its source. Show fixed items such as beams, lights and sprinklers when they appear in the approved plans. A clear-looking ceiling does not prove usable headroom. OSHA’s forklift measurement guide shows why the named vehicle’s mast and fork sizes matter near doors and overhead items. This is US workplace guidance, not a universal design rule.
Keep the aisle and rack story honest
Racking can help a tenant understand a proposed storage plan. It also brings assumptions about rack type, pallet size, equipment and aisle layout. If those details are not approved, label the setup as an example. Do not present it as the building’s confirmed capacity.
In the USA, OSHA’s warehouse guide covers rack loads and aisle clearance. Its narrow-aisle guide shows how aisle needs vary by storage and truck type. The US powered industrial truck standard also covers headroom under overhead fixtures. These sources help frame questions. They do not set one aisle width for every project or approve a render.
European teams should check local rules and ask their project advisers. EU-OSHA’s workplace transport guide and risk-control overview give general context on lift trucks, people and work areas. They do not replace a site or safety review.
Show options as matched comparisons
With warehouse rendering services, if a tenant is comparing two layouts, hold the camera, shell, light and scale cues steady. Change only the fit-out elements under review. For example, one view might show a proposed office and welfare block beside the entrance, while another shifts that block to a different approved option.
Label each image with the option name and drawing revision. Add a short key for the elements that differ. This makes the comparison easier to follow and reduces the chance that a viewer mistakes two separate proposals for one final scheme.
For general office or retail leasing imagery, see Realistic 3D’s commercial interior leasing guide. It covers other types of commercial space. This article stays with warehouse and logistics interiors.
How do you review the image and scope the work?
Review warehouse rendering services against their source drawings and brief before judging styling. A clear sign-off list helps the developer, agent and tenant check the same details.
Use this review checklist
Use this checklist before approving warehouse rendering services.
- The file revision, units and project option are correct
- Columns, floor levels, doors and fixed services match the approved shell
- The office, welfare space and mezzanine match their stated status and source
- Rack type, pallet layout and handling equipment are either sourced or labelled as examples
- Any visible clear-height or size label matches the source and uses clear units
- The camera shows the intended relationship between the mezzanine and work floor
- The same details remain clear in the final brochure or listing crop
- A project expert has checked technical questions outside the image brief
If a reviewer spots a concern about structure, fire protection, access, equipment or safe operation, send it to the person responsible for that design. Moving a rack in the render does not resolve a design issue.
Agree scope before requesting a quote
Tell the studio how many views you need for the warehouse rendering services, what each view must explain, where the images will be used and when you need them. List the approved source files, options, output sizes, crops and review rounds. Also agree who will answer drawing questions and who will approve illustrative details.
Quotes can differ when one includes a simple shell and office, while another includes a detailed racking layout, mezzanine and several fit-out options. Ask studios to itemise those inputs and outputs so you can compare the same scope. The commercial interior rendering cost guide covers broader pricing factors.
Send the studio the approved drawings, required views and launch date so it can scope the work.
Brief the operation, then show the space
Useful warehouse rendering services begin with the agreed shell and a clear description of the fit-out choice. Name what is fixed, what is proposed and what is only an example. Then choose views that show the office, mezzanine and working floor in relation to one another.
Before you commission the images, bring the design lead, tenant or agent, and equipment or fit-out reviewers together around the current drawings. Then send the plans, required views and launch date to Realistic 3D’s interior rendering team for a scoped quote.
What are warehouse rendering services?
For a logistics tenant, warehouse rendering services show a proposed warehouse shell and fit-out from agreed views. They may include the office, mezzanine, racking and work floor. Use clear plans and label assumptions. The images explain the proposal. They do not approve its design or confirm capacity.
What drawings are needed for warehouse interior CGI?
Start with the current dimensioned floor plan, sections and elevations. Add the column grid, door positions, stated clear height, roof structure and fixed services. Include the office, mezzanine and rack plans if they are part of the image. Date each file and identify which revision is approved.
Should I include racking in a warehouse render?
Include racking when the tenant needs to understand a proposed storage layout. Supply the rack plan, type, pallet assumptions and any related equipment information. If those choices are still open, label the racking as illustrative. A render cannot confirm storage capacity, rack loading or safe operation.
Can a render show that a warehouse has enough clear height?
A render can show a clear-height figure supplied by the project team. It cannot measure usable height or confirm that a truck and rack system will fit. Ask the design and equipment teams to confirm the figure, its source and any overhead items before using it in leasing material.
What is the best view for a warehouse mezzanine?
A high view or cutaway often makes the mezzanine footprint and its relation to the floor below easier to understand. A closer view may be needed to show stairs, office access or the space beneath it. Choose the view from the tenant’s question and base the image on the current mezzanine plan and section.
Can warehouse CGI compare two tenant fit-outs?
Yes, if both options have clear source plans. Keep the building shell and camera consistent, then change only the fit-out details being compared. Label each view with its option and revision. If a choice is only for discussion, state that it is an example only.
Does warehouse CGI prove that a layout is safe or compliant?
No. A render is a visual explanation of a proposed layout. Safety, structure, fire protection, equipment fit and local rules need review by the right project experts. Refer technical concerns to the named designer, engineer, equipment supplier or safety adviser.
How many warehouse interior renders should I commission?
There is no fixed number. Choose views based on the decisions they need to support. A high view may show the rack plan and work floor, while a second view may make the office or mezzanine easier to assess. Add another only when it answers a separate tenant question.
